Terra Nova Bay is a narrow coastal strip located to the south of Zucchelli Station. It is listed as an Antarctic Specially Protected Area due to its importance for long term research of local marine ecology and its colony of Adelie penguins. The bay is usually an ice free pocket of water, even when the majority of the Antarctic coastline is fully iced over.
