Umiivik Bay is a serene Arctic Bay on southeastern Greenland's King Frederick VI Coast, where the massive Greenland Ice Sheet gently meets the shore. Unlike many fjords, its smooth, undulating landscape and scattered islands create a striking, unbroken panorama. Adventurous travelers can admire calving glaciers, dramatic ice formations, and expansive seascapes. Rich in exploration history, it was a launch point for Fridtjof Nansen's 1888 crossing of Greenland, offering a remote and unforgettable polar experience.
